Text with spaces
CamelCase is the use of capitalization to indicate the separation of words instead of spaces or punctuation. Screen readers and text-to-speech use this capitalization to avoid smooshing words together as they read out the text. This can change how the screen readers or text-to-speech understand what it is reading. When someone uses a hashtag that is made up of multiple words, you can separate them in your head but it takes more time and energy. This extra energy needed to do this mental work is felt more by people that already struggle more with reading, Like people reading your post with a second language, or other challenges with reading like dyslexia. Dyslexics like me already have to deal with trying to remember how to spell dyslexia, please don’t make us do more work with your hashtags. If you are you using assistive tech, results can range okay to gibberish.
